What we do

oshc.net.au is a walkthrough site for international students who are already in Australia and need to do something with their OSHC — renew, claim, change cover, switch providers, transition between visas. We do not sell insurance. We do not represent any insurer. We do not collect commission on insurer recommendations.

Who's behind editorial QA

Editorial review is done by a verified Australian education agent: UNILINK EDUCATION PTY. LTD. (ABN 50 152 187 650 · MARN 1687552 · QEAC G167). If a walkthrough touches on visa-adjacent rules, an Australian Migration Agent reviews the paragraph before publish. The migration-related content is general information, not personal migration advice.

UNILINK offers paid agent services for students who want hands-on help with applications, visa renewals, or insurance switches — but that is a separate, opt-in path. The walkthroughs are written so you can do it yourself.

Languages

We publish in English plus simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Nepali, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, and Thai. Translation prioritises the practical steps; insurance and visa technical terms (OSHC, OVHC, GP, specialist, nominated provider, Medicare reciprocal, subclass numbers) are kept in English even in non-English versions to avoid ambiguity.

What we verify before publishing

Each walkthrough carries a "Verified: YYYY-MM-DD" date. Verification means:

1. The insurer portal screens / API behave as described on the verification date.
2. Cited insurer / Home Affairs / Department of Education policies are quoted from official 2026 documents.
3. Numerical examples (prices, refunds, time windows) use current rates.

Policies change. If a step looks different on your screen, please email and we'll re-verify within 7 days.

What we don't publish

• Personal medical advice — speak to your GP.
• Personal migration advice for individual cases — speak to a MARA agent.
• Insurer rankings as marketing copy. Provider comparisons are based on documented terms and reported claim experience, not paid placement.
